1. Improve the drive mode and increase the load capacity
Redesign the transmission mode, install another transmission shaft on the other side of the transmission shaft, install the motor base according to the site conditions, and reselect the drive motor. Change the original one-way drive to a two-way drive, and add a frequency converter to ensure the service life of the motor while improving the load capacity of the conveyor.
2. Selection of transmission bearings
Ensure the smooth operation of the conveyor. Whether the bearing in the sprocket moves freely is an important condition for the normal operation of the conveyor. However, in the actual site, the gap between the bearing and the pin shaft is often filled with debris such as oxidized iron sheets until it rusts, making it unable to rotate freely and in a dry friction state with the chain, resulting in wear of the pin shaft and the sprocket, causing the chain to break and jam, affecting production. In order to keep the bearing in good lubrication conditions and a normal working environment, re-select bearings with self-sealing to prevent the leakage of lubricants and the intrusion of dust, water vapor or other dirt, give full play to the working performance of the bearing and extend its service life. A bearing seal is a sealing element installed on a rotating shaft or housing hole, such as a felt ring, rubber seal, cover, labyrinth shaft stopper, etc. Its function is to protect the bearing and prevent foreign dust, dirt, metal particles, moisture, acid gas and other debris from entering the bearing. If the bearing seal is poor, foreign debris will enter, causing the bearing working condition to deteriorate significantly and the bearing service life to be significantly reduced. [2]
Another function of the bearing seal is to prevent grease from leaking from the bearing components. If oil leaks, it will quickly destroy the normal lubrication of the bearing and cause the bearing to burn out due to heat. In addition, a poor sealing device will not only cause oil leakage and waste, but also pollute the mechanical equipment and processed products. Therefore, in order for the equipment to operate normally, the bearing must have a good sealing device.
When selecting the type of bearing seal, the following factors should be considered: (1) the working environment of the bearing; (2) the structural characteristics of the bearing components; (3) the speed of the bearing (the circumferential speed of the bearing); (4) the type of lubricant of the bearing (lubricating oil or grease); (5) the working temperature of the bearing; (6) the manufacturing cost.
External seals are divided into two types: non-contact and contact. They are described as follows: (1) Contact seals, as the name implies, are seals that are in contact with the bearing parts that are in relative motion with the seal cover and have no gap. This type of seal is in direct contact with the mating parts, which generates friction and heat during rotation, which can easily cause lubrication problems and wear the contact surface, resulting in a decrease in the sealing effect of the bearing and the quality of the bearing failing to meet the required requirements. Therefore, contact seal bearings are only suitable for medium and low speed working environments. (2) Non-contact seals are seals that are not in contact with the bearing parts that are in relative motion with the seal cover and have an appropriate gap in between. This type of seal generates almost no friction heat during bearing rotation and the seal cover does not wear. This type of seal is suitable for high-speed and high-temperature working environments. The smaller the gap of the non-contact seal, the better. According to the working conditions of the bearing and the requirements of the working environment for the degree of sealing, select 2RS type sealed bearings. This prevents the bearing from hardening due to the accumulation of impurities, thereby extending the life of the bearing.
3. Improved connection method
The transmission shaft and split sprocket were redesigned. The sprockets were connected together by bolts and fixed to the transmission shaft using positioning keys. The original integrated connection between the transmission shaft and the sprocket was changed to a split connection. The sprocket teeth can be quickly replaced after wear.
